This performance, closing the solo show of Israeli artist Bianka Eshel Gershuni, uses her version of Tarot cards as a basis for a personal and collective exploration of the Israeli art community.
The first hour is dedicated to personal readings, transforming the gallery space into a place of inquiry and intimacy. The second part of the performance is a communal reading using the cards to see into the future of the Israel Art world.
Tarot cards have been used since the 14th century as a way to look at the past, present and future combining religious, mystical and esoteric traditions. In the previous centurey Carl Yung added an additinoal layer of meaning tying these cards to archytipical constructs and colective subconcious.
